Simon Dorries is the Chief Executive Officer of Responsible Wood. Simon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and has worked in the Forest and Wood Products Industry for over 35 years. Commencing with the Plywood Association of Australia in 1985 as a cadet scientist while undertaking a science degree through part-time study. Simon stayed with the Plywood Association for 30 years through a number of name changes to eventually become General Manager of the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia.
In addition to his role at Responsible Wood, Simon is currently Chair of Standards Australia Committee TM-011 Engineered Wood Products.
Matt de Jongh - Sustainablity Manager at Responsible Wood
Matt de Jongh is the Sustainablity Manager of Responsible Wood. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from ANU and has worked as a forester and in forestry for more than 20 years. As a forester Matt is an advocate for promoting sustainable forest management and the associated environmental, social and economiic benefits. Matt has developed a good working knowledge of how policy decisions can impact communities. This has often involved building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Jason Ross – Marketing and Communications at Responsible Wood
Jason Ross is the Marketing and Communications Officer for Responsible Wood. In this role, Jason is responsible for managing the marketing and communications program for PEFC in Australia in addition to the PEFC New Zealand programme on behalf of the New Zealand Forest Certification Association (NZFCA). Previously a Green Star Accredited Professional in Australia and having previously been involved in the Green Building Council of Australia State Industry Group (Queensland) Jason is a passionate advocate for the virtues of positive economic development opportunities and activity; having developed a reputation as a leader in new-business opportunities and new-business venture development within the property industry.
